Vanavond meldde mijn zoon dat zijn beste vriend verongelukte. Nick was bij Kenny in de klas toen hij in België voor 't eerst school liep. Over de voorbije jaren zijn zijn ze vrienden gebleven en alhoewel hun activiteiten hen soms uit elkaar trok, vonden ze elkaar steeds weer zelfs na 19 jaar.
Nick reed door 't dorp op zijn moto, verloor de controle na een snelheidsdrempel en doordat hij de helm niet had vastgegespt was zijn hoofd niet beschermd, dit bleek fataal.
When Kenny called me, my stomach felt tight and my hart ached because I wonder how this will impact the family and all the friends they had. Nick was a basejumper and took so many risks in his life, to lose it in front of Ronny Mosuses' house! I pray his parents can find peace in the idea that he did not suffer. The loss must be very painful for them, courage also to his girlfriend.
