Körperwelten

Favian, Els, Rie and I went to visit this unique exposition. Plastified bodies exposed in detail. Very interesting however we didn't know we would have to wait 3 hours. Of all the days we choose the busiest one. The whole thing took place in the cellars of the meathalls in Brussels. Very old, well preserved and interesting caverns, as you can see from the pictures. We could not take pictures of the naked bodies. We saw how the bodies worked, how the internal body fits together in various ways, what with sick bodies.... It is an art gallery but it was very scientifically explained. We are now that much smarter. I advise everyone to go see it if they have the chance.

dip in icecold water

For the first time ever, the sport museum of Hofstade called for a dive in the middle of the winter. First it was planned in January but then it was freezing almost two weeks long and the lake was solidly frozen, one could walk over it except for a small area that the birds kept free. So the event was delate. To last Sunday, good for me! But it froze over again the two last nights, so they actually broke an area open for us. Since there were a 160 swimmers we had to take turns.
They had a special prize for the most exceptional dressed up swimmer, I got that prize. Today several newspapers mentioned me by name. It was a special moment to walk into the ice water. The chunk of ice that I stepped on felt even colder but because the air temp was about the same as the water it did not feel so cold.

The year of the OX

Kenny arranged for us to go eat at "The Golden Wok". They provided life music, some special dish, some champagne and firework.
We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and we wish everyone a prosperous new year.
This makes good for the fact that we did not exchange red envelops this year. For some reason was the start of the chinese new year less in the news this year. Maybe Obama's success and the sad story of the stabbing in Dendermonde. In our personnal life we paid attention to the new born Kaitlyn, Dad's return out of the hospital: whatever this celebration made it good.
